The Community

Grier Heights is one of the oldest African American Communities in Charlotte, NC.  Like many others throughout the country it was once a thriving sector filled with tidy, single-family homes and apartments. Today neighborhood advocates and the Grier Heights Economic Foundation staff come together to restore the prominence of decades past.  We believe that the future of the neighborhood depends on increasing the number of homeowners and responsible renters who invest their time and money in the future of Grier Heights.
Grier Heights is to home 2,600 residents, an elementary school, a community services center and headquarters of the Mecklenburg County Health and Social Services Department.
