Community
Enrichment |
|
Grier
Heights Economic Foundation (GHEF) is always searching for ways to
uplift the community.
To that end, we extend scholarships to more than two dozen
summer-mini camp participants.
We galvanize residents, supporting agencies and volunteers for
neighborhood beautification.
We
also host a fully operational medical clinic and bring to the neighborhood
free legal services from the esteemed Parker, Poe Adams and
Bernstien law firm. |

Commercial
Development |
|
Our
comprehensive approach to fostering a healthy neighborhood includes
making employment and retail opportunities available in our back
yard. We renovated a 4200 sq ft building for office space and
we plan to develop and operate a 6,000 sq ft child care center. |

Education and
Employment |
|
We
recognize that learning begins at home and knowledge is still the
key to the future. Consequently, we operate "at
risk" youth and parenting training programs as well as job training
sessions for residents. Our partnerships throughout the city
allow us to server as a referral source for job placement and GED
certification |

Housing |
|
GHEF
is committed to empowering residents with the asset of home
ownership. We not only make housing available through new
construction and the acquisition and rehabilitation of single family
homes, we also help people obtain them.
The
Foundation offers home ownership training courses housing counseling
and a Home Buyers Club.
Moreover, to enhance the value of existing owners, we facilitate
bi-monthly meetings of absentee property owners so that community
needs and concerns can be addressed.
Our goals and quest for growth won't allow us to stop there, we have
plans for a multi-family housing unit and a housing subdivision. |
